In doing so, we already offer today answers to questions of tomorrow and help to shape inner-city logistics of the future. The founders Johannes Braith, Ferdinand Dietrich and Christoph Sandraschitz pursue the mission to grow Storebox to become the largest and most innovative urban logistics network in Europe.

How it all began

It was in 2015 when the first thoughts on Storebox were born. What started as an idea back then doesn't have much in common with today's company, but the development was groundbreaking. At that time, I was living in an apartment in the second district of Vienna when I noticed a mechanic who was getting his materials in the basement. As a self-storage next door, we help solving the problem of lack of space in urban areas. Our storage cabins are accessible 24/7 through individual access codes, are equiped with smart sensor technology and can be conveniently booked online. Storebox enables an innovative and completely digitalized booking process. The storage cabins do not only offer plenty of storage space for private customers but is also used as storage space by many business clients.

Our warehouse and logistics network enable us to respond to changing needs and requirements at an early stage and offer advanced solutions in the area of last mile logistics. Together with our business customers, we continously develop and optimize new solutions, which enable increased efficiency in logistics processes. This way, we were able to establish ourselves as leading player for decentralized full-service logistics with ambition to shape logistics of tomorrow.

As the fastest growing franchise system in Europe, we have already granted over 200 licenses in 6 different countries. We insist on a strong partnership with our franchisees, whom we support on their path to part-time self-employment. Our proven concept allows for fast and uncomplicated implementation at small investment costs and fast amortization.

Our sustainability strategy

We have set ourselves the goal of acting sustainably and have firmly established this in our corporate strategy

We want to proactively offer environmentally friendly solutions and are constantly working to reduce CO₂ emissions in the logistics sector. Sustainability and corporate social responsibility not only relate to the environment, but also to our relationship with employees and our responsibility towards society. Our Sustainability Report 2021 shows how we at Storebox assume our responsibility and what measures we have taken so far.

Our Milestones

Today

2022

In 2022 Storebox expands to Belgium and the Netherlands. The company already operates in 6 countries. Storebox is considered the fastest growing franchise system in Europe, with over 200 awarded franchise licenses. The Click & Collect locations with IKEA are being expanded.

2021

In 2021, the growth course can be proudly maintained, cooperations such as Click & Collect with IKEA or the pickup stations with DPD are launched. The company is also growing steadily and counts 50 people. In July 2021 Storebox closes its € 52 million Series B financing round.

2020

The year 2020 is also marked by major milestones. In July, Storebox expands to Luxembourg and the 100th Storebox location is opened. In October, Storebox wins the award for the for "Best Franchise System Newcomer 2020".

2019

2019 was another successful year for storebox. The Storebox team is growing and counts 30 employees. Storebox expands to Switzerland and the 75th Storebox location is opened by the end of the year. The Franchise Advisory Board begins its work and Storebox becomes a full member of the Austrian Franchise Association (ÖFV).

2018

Only one year later, Storebox expanded to Germany and the first Storebox location was opened in Berlin. October 2018: SIGNA invests in Storebox.

2017

After the foundation in 2016, the first Storebox locations open in Vienna in January 2017 and shorty after the franchise system launches with the first franchise partner.
